Chance the Rapper wins Best New Artist, because sometimes the Grammys are right
The Grammys took a chance on Chance the Rapper and gave him the Best New Artist trophy.
He thanked God, his family, his girlfriend, his daughter and the City of Chicago and kept going, despite efforts to put a limit on Chance's gratitude, "I'm gonna talk, y'all can play the music."

But don't feel sad for your favorite bros, because they picked up an award earlier in the evening for Best Dance Record, so you still have to refer to them as Grammy winners The Chainsmokers in Trump's America.
This win isn't just a big deal for Chance -- it's a major victory for streaming music. The Grammys actually changed the rules to allow his independently released, streaming-only album, Coloring Book, to get nominated, which he acknowledged, "Independence means freedom."
He also had the cutest For Your Consideration ad of all time.
