One creative guy recreated Met Gala gowns out of trash bags, tin foil and imagination

The Met Gala dresses may have taken years, from concept to construction, to come to fruition, but that doesn't mean you can't find a cheaper version right in your kitchen trash.

Social media star, João Paulo, who goes by @johndrops on Instagram, used household supplies, like trash bags, toilet paper and aluminum foil to create visions of high fashion... sort of.

The popular Instagrammer has found a niche audience of people who love seeing him remake famous celebrity outfits. And like a kid in a giant landfill, the 2016 Met Gala (themed a very tech-y "Manus v Machina") was a total goldmine for Paulo. Prepare yourself for some serious DIY couture.
